brussels
its been a while again (im not very good at updating my blog, apparently).. so i've not had much of a summer break (bring back those three months off at undergrad!) just the odd days here and there. we did go to brussels for a short break tho. yeah as everyone said, brussels was a bit of a random destination, and even the guide book said there's nothing really to see! the only significant sight was the Grande Place, supposedly the most beautiful square in Europe (or was it the world?) - and yep, it was pretty impressive! i liked it a lot, but in the end brussels was all about the eating and the drinking! waffles, frites, chocolate, beer.. we managed to get our fair share everyday!

the apparently renowned belgian chocolate maker, Wittamer

elaborate period buildings lining the Grande Place, each used to be owned by a different guild of the city

ian pulling a face at the copious amounts of beer we seemed to have ordered!
since then, i've been quite busy at work, and also ian left the UK to go back to the States a few weeks ago =( i have to get used to life in brighton without him..
