still alive!

i havent written for so long! but we've finally acquired broadband in our flat so no more excuses hehe.. ^_* so i better fill in.. apparently ive had "major lifestyle changes" recently (according to the natwest telephone banking ppl).. well.. i had to submit a first year report for my PhD, which was super-duperly hastily written in three days and still given in three days late.. but i managed to pacify my supervisor and co-supervisor so that was good, yeah baby! *_*v then i got ill, and subsequently got better.. then ian went to morrocco and i moved house. man that was an ordeal of pure stress!! from finding the ideal house to the horrendous ordeal of moving day (mainly cos the agent was annoyin and wouldnt let us hav the keys), i definitely never want to move house ever again in my life! (if possible..) at first there was five of us (all PhD friends), and we looked at house after house but ppl were so picky abt different things it was jus impossible to please everyone.. especially in brighton where houses are built on hills and tend to be expensive and cramped.. and a few difficult "situations" and some shed tears later, rachel and lara split from us and found their own place. but its all ok now, cos liz, andi and i found a flat too and i gotta admit im quite glad we split cos living with fewer ppl is def better. we're in a first floor appartment which is newly refurbished and in the Hove side of brighton (the posher side hehe!) its really nice but the only problem is that it was totally unfurnished, and though initially i was well excited at the prospect of designing our own home, the glamour soon wore off! now our flat is apparenly a showroom for shoddy argos furniture (the cheap build-it-yourself "imitiation wood" kind) and one month later we're still waitin for our sofa and dining room table to arrive!! ah well, we're getting quite used to taking turns to sit on the cushions and eating our dinner off the floor! but nevertheless it's all good, so i can't complain.. ian has also moved in with us for the summer, which is cool! (he's being our house-husband.. and a very good one at that hehee!! ^_^)
