trip to Nice

wohoo! i jus got back from Nice (south coast of France), spent 6 days there with ian last week.. Nice is really pretty, the narrow streets of the "old town" are packed with boutiques and restaurant/cafes (the number of times we got lost trying to find the restaurant we wanted.. argh!) did some shopping, watched "Valiant" at the cinema in french (!!), walked around a LOT, and oh, on the last night we went up this hill where there's a park and old castle.. but we came down too late and the gate was already locked! we walked back up the hill and down other routes several times only to find ALL the gates were locked.. it was like being hamsters trapped in a humongous cage.. luckily there were other french ppl trapped too, and eventually most of them escaped by wriggling their way under one of the larger gates! ian didnt think he would fit in the gap, so we were well and truly stuck in that park! it had already started getting dark, and one of the french girls, before escaping, called the police for us who eventually sent someone to open the gate for us - freedom never felt so good!!

we also went to monaco and cannes for a day each.. they were so cool! so many beautiful villas and yachts of all the rich ppl in monaco ^_^ i wanted to go celebrity-spotting in cannes but unfortunately i didnt see any! haha they beach is fab, and we also took a ferry to an island called St Marguerite.. that was quite backward and rural, so different to the city of cannes!

oh i miss being on holiday! my dad's in BRAZIL at the moment *jealous* but back to work we go..
