happy (belated) new yr!!
and very VERY belated Christmas too! .. yeah i havent updated my blog in a while.. =P
so it started snowing on Christmas day afternoon, very pretty white Christmas!! ^_^ prob the most scenic photo i managed to take was the outside of my church in manchester! (somehow the snow outside my house was not so impressive)
after a week at home, i went away to Devon for another week with my family which was quite nice =) tho it was a bit cold and rural (not the most appropriate for city girls, but well done me for surviving a whole week with no internet and crappy mobile signal!) but we did go to one beach which i liked a lot, hills on one side and sea on the other! there were lots of these ppl skating around the sand on karts pulled by kites (yeah thats how windy it was!) i dunno wot they're called but it looked pretty cool!
then i came back to sussex on tue.. kinda nice to be back but was a bit depressed on tue nite at the prospect of startin work again T_T but it hasnt been that bad so far.. easing myself in gently, long lunch breaks and finishing at noon so i can go shopping instead! that was much more productive - bought a few nice things in the sales!! *grin* then yesterday our lab ppl went to the LMB in cambridge for a one-day conference! that happens to be where yanlan works so i got to sneak out periodically to meet up with her!! *_* so nice to see her again tho it was brief and fleeting.. and lovely to see yl so happy these days hehee!!! u kno wot i mean girl *giggles* and she also showed us round her lab, and i met some of her rather cheeky labmates ^_* sorry i didnt hav time to see anyone else tho =( but im lookin forward to comin back for a proper wkend soon.. maybe for CNY ball?!
