the last wk or so.. & my first thanksgiving!
hmm wots been goin on lately.. well sara (my supervisor) left the lab last wk so we had a couple of leaving do's for her. on wed we went to our boss tony's house for a curry - it was apparently the one and only dish he can cook so its a bit of a speciality - and yeah it was pretty special! im a whimp when it comes to indian spices so there was no choice but to quench the fire with copious amounts of beer and wine ^_* and then felt even more bloated than i was already..
then on fri nite we had a party at the Pub with No Name.. the pub was up a hill (it was more a mountain if u ask me :p) we figured there was no point us attempting to strut up the hill in our heels so we ordered a taxi to drive us the whole 2 secs up the road! it was another one of those crazy work parties.. edgar dancing to barbie girl, this time not in a skirt at least :p it was weird sayin goodbye to sara tho, cos even tho she was my supervisor i didnt kno her as well as other ppl did.. but she seemed to be lookin forward to goin home to paris - she'll get to live with her husband again after bein away in england and soon she'll hav a baby too!
on sat.. was all set to go out.. to a gay club called Harlequins but in the end felt ill so didnt make it - but apparently it wasnt very good so thats ok! and then sunday i went to london with ian - he had a thanksgiving lunch at a hotel in lancaster gate with all the californian students in south england - my first thanksgiving! i was kinda dreading it beforehand cos i wasnt american, but actually it was cool! met some really nice ppl, and the food was good - thanksgiving dinner seems the same as christmas dinner to me, tho apparently being american their portions are obviously five times bigger! *lol* and then went shopping on oxford st.. bought some exciting suede boots.. *^_^*
