why am i such a slacker?!

its been really nice gettin emails off ppl in the last few days whom i havent heard from in a while.. really hope to keep in touch with everyone ^_^ i jus finished stuff in the lab and now waitin for mates to come for our dept halloween party that starts in a bit..

also jus got told off by my supervisor for coming in too late in the mornings (i usually wander in after 10).. actually she was quite nice abt it, but it got me worried cos she said tony, our head of lab, often comes into the lab at 9am and gets annoyed when ppl arent there.. and i really dont want him to think im a lazy slacker (even tho i blatantly am!) cos i've jus started my phd and i need to make a good impression!! ai.. i hope it'll be ok ~_~ im definitely makin more of an effort to set my alarm next week..

went for a drink with a guy called Ian after mandarin class last nite.. he's on exchange from the states. it was funny cos ive never really gotten to kno many americans before, and they are a funny bunch arent they!?! lol =p i was in his room and he was showin me his palmtop thing (i dun even kno wot to call those things!).. i pressed some options and found on his to-do-list: "1. kill all the english"!!!! haha i escaped home asap after that!! (tho i was careful to point out, of course, that im actually not english but british chinese..)

the other day i fell on some concrete steps outside the dept (how embarrassing, but i dont think anyone i kno saw me!).. and now i have some nice septic wounds on my left hand #_# its pretty rubbish cos things like brushing teeth and washing hair just arent as easy when u only hav one hand! so im feelin a bit infirm at the moment..

ps. for some reason i cant get my paragraphs to separate when publishing my blogs.. (am i jus bein really stupid?!) so i have to colour-coordinate them instead!
