birthdays week

is it jus me or has it been everybody on earth's birthday this week? ok so i exaggerate :p around me anyway, it was rachel (phd friend)'s on tues, Cong (from my work)'s also on tues, rebecca (a best mate from manchester)'s on wed, and lara (also phd friend) on thurs..

went for sushi for rachel's bday wiv a coupla others - some of them had never eaten sushi before, it was so funny to see their faces at the prospect of the raw fish entering their mouths!! *_^ oh Cong's bday was so funny - i was on the bus with him and asking him how old he was.. "i'm 22, will be 23 soon.. actually i think it's VERY soon.. whats the date today? its the 18th? OMG its my bday today!!!" what?!! *lol*

anyway, totally changing the subject, yesterday a french girl called delphine (one of ian's friends) invited us round for dinner.. she cooked this traditional pasta-like thing that comes from her home town in france - was quite cool! she's really lovely, we went out together wit some other french girls on monday nite (and got totally trashed - there were some very hilarious videos to show for it) .. i always thought french ppl were quite cold towards the english (at least in my experience) but i guess that isnt true!? or maybe its jus that those who dont hate english are the ones that come here.. =)
