Stop 1: LA
just came back from 5 days in LA, staying with my aunt (an old school friend of my mum and dad) and her family. i'm now at ian's place at his uni, UC Davis. LA was really nice! i didnt actually go to downtown LA much, cos they stay south of the city, except to chinatown to eat. but they took me to Hollywood, which being the enthralled tourist that i was, was well exciting! but i felt guilty cos there were lots of ppl dressed as characters from movies who kept grabbing me to pose for photos etc. and i never tipped them, trying too hard to escape! we also went to disneyland - one of their nieces works there so she got us passes for free! it reminded me a lot of disneyworld in florida, but this year is their 50th anniversary so they had some special things for that, and also a lot of things for christmas. it was cool cos i love disney! it was sooo cute standing with all the little kids watching the disney parade, they were so enchanted seeing the disney characters really come to life, staring in awe and waving.. aww ^_^ my aunt's extended family also took me to their vietnam town (there's a huge one in LA county!) and had LOTS of yummy vietnamese food! actually i have hardly stopped eating since i got here, constantly feeling stuffed! u know what they say abt america and FOOD.. :p my aunt and her family were so nice to me, she kept talking abt my parents, i think she knows them better than i do!
