bliss!

this week's been busy, running here and there.. but despite that, its felt very peaceful, cos my housemate andi (if u met him then u'll know what i mean!) was away on holiday and my other housemate liz went home this wkend. so i've jus been able to chill and have my own space - utter bliss! its been nice =)

ive been doing some new stuff lately, like COOKING! esp after not having to cook much this past year thanks to ian, my enthusiastic budding chef! but now he's gone and left his legacy of recipes and equipment, i feel the pressure to make everything from scratch nowadays and i actually started to really enjoy cooking! its great to be able to cook for other ppl too!

i also joined the wind band at uni playing my flute. i thought it was abt time to pick up my flute again after hardly playing for the last five years! its such as shame given all the time and effort that went into learning ever since i was old enough to remember! andi hasnt been able to stop the mocking since he found out i joined the wind band - he doesnt think i could actually be sad enough to do that! but i am resolute; its fine for ppl to have a hobby other than watching tv every night and going to the pub, right?!

the other thing i started recently was helping out at a cafe for international students at my church on thursday lunchtimes. its mainly for language school students and its really good fun, im improving my skills at table tennis and pool! ive made friends with some koreans as well as others and have been hanging out with a girl called Hee a lot recently which has been cool. its been great to see ppl getting interested in the church and the bible etc too! actually dave who runs this cafe asked me last wk to take over from next year onwards, which is exciting but really scary!

neway ive got a few more days to slog out before our centre's Christmas lunch and day off on thursday and then i fly out to california on friday morning! very excited :D
